The Courses

My objective is to provide affordable, high quality scenario based instruction for new Cirrus pilots transitioning to their aircraft, and for pilots seeking their Instrument Rating, by creating a relaxed and safe learning environment. All training will follow Cirrus Approach and FAA Airman Certification Standards.

Cirrus Training may be completed at a client's Eastern or Central U.S. location or in Pinehurst, while the Accelerated IFR, IFR Finish Up, and CPL courses may only be completed in Pinehurst. It has been my experience that the demands of accelerated training are best met away from the distractions of your daily life. Other single engine pilots are welcome to participate in the Pinehurst based courses as well.

Cirrus Embark Training

This course is designed for the VFR pilot new to Cirrus Aircraft, or existing Cirrus pilots upgrading to a different model or avionics suite. Your training can be tailored to fulfill insurance requirements, and includes a high performance endorsement and Flight Review if required. Learn engine management and ownership best practices from a Cirrus owner.

Average course length is 3 days.

Accelerated IFR*

This is a demanding course and over 10 days you will receive at a minimum 30 hours of NC scenario based flight training, 10 hours of simulator, and 30 hours of ground training. When conditions permit, you will train in actual IMC and not only learn what you have to know to pass your checkride, you will go well beyond the basic requirements to  learn what you need to know to be a safe IFR pilot.

This course can also be completed in 2 to 3 training segments.

Cirrus Commercial Pilot Training*

Now that you are a Cirrus private pilot with your instrument rating, and know all the right buttons to push, its time for your Commercial Pilot Certificate!

Chandelles, Lazy Eights, Eights on Pylons, Power-Off 180's, Steep Spirals are not only fun, they will sharpen those rusty hand flying skills.

Average course length is 4 days.

Cirrus G6 Perspective+ Training+

With over 1200 hours of G6 time logged let me share my experiences to help you maximize your utilization and proficiency with your aircraft. Learn how to best use your technology for safer and more enjoyable IFR and VFR flying. A Flight Review or IPC may be incorporated in this training.

The course length is 2 days at your location or Pinehurst.

The Landing Challenge+

This course focuses on improving the skills needed for safe patterns and landings. Master short fields and narrow runways, managing "best forward speed" and other ATC requests. Most importantly- you will learn when, and how, to Go Around!

The average course length is 1/2 day

IFR Finish Up*

A condensed version of the Accelerated IFR course may be just what is required for you to complete your IFR rating. A customized flight/simulator/ground training syllabus will be created to supplement your prior training experience to get you to the finish line.

The course will require 5-6 days depending on your current proficiency.

IFR Refresher and IPC+

If you require an IPC, you most likely are in need of IFR refresher training. Learn the 15 key programming and procedure skills and how to get the most out of your avionics. This course will be a combined flight and simulator experience over 2 days and will include time to enjoy a round of golf at Pinehurst.

VFR Proficiency and Flight Review+

Go beyond the basic requirements of the Flight Review and sharpen your skills to meet ACS standards for either PPL or CPL maneuvers. This 1-2 day course will combine flight and ground training and include time to enjoy a round of golf at Pinehurst.

+Pinehurst can be the destination for this training, or it can be a stopover along flights between the Northeast and Southeast.

*IFR Accelerated, IFR Finish Up, and Commercial Pilot Courses require prior successful completion of FAA Knowledge Tests and are offered only in Pinehurst, NC. Approximate Examiner's fee is $650.
